Dear Parents / Guardians,

Recent changes to the Idaho school immunization rules require that a child receive the following immunizations prior to admission into the 7th grade:

  • One dose of Tdap booster, and
  • One dose of Meningococcal vaccine.
Southwest District Health (SWDH) immunization program will be coming to your child’s school to hold an
immunization clinic for sixth, seventh and eighth graders on February 26, 2015.  Permission slips and important information about these immunizations will be sent via Skyward Family Access email.  The vaccines will be provided at no cost with a $20 per injection administration fee ($40.00 total for both vaccines).  Please make checks out to Southwest District Health.  If you have private insurance or Medicaid, SWDH will bill insurance or Medicaid and no payment will be required at the time of service.  If you would like for your child to participate, please complete the forms and send the following to your child’s teacher before February 26, 2015.

  • Completed permission slip
  • Payment (if your child does not have insurance or Medicaid)
  • Copy of insurance card or Medicaid card
  • Your child’s shot record (so we can record the shots that are given)

School announcements for January 14, 2015.

These are your school announcements for January 14, 2015.
We at the Vikes News Room rarely make mistakes, but we have to admit, we made one this time.  Yes, it is true.  On Monday, we announced that the first boys’ basketball game was this week.  We were wrong.  The first basketball game will be on Thursday, January 22nd.  We apologize for this error.
Academic Bowl practice is today after school.  It is time for us to get ready for the meet next Tuesday here at MMS.  If you want to learn how to play Trivia Crack, please see Mr. Bergstrom in room 108 B.  Staff, we still need 4 more volunteers to WORK at the meet.  Please contact Mrs. Wheaton if you want to help.
Just a reminder!  There are no more class changes this semester.
TODAY is the last day to register for Valhalla's Child and Babysitting Safety/CPR class.  If you would like to sign up, please see Miss Gill in room 22A for details and registration forms.
Ski and Snowboard Team, don’t forget, we are headed to Bogus again this Saturday.  The bus leaves at 8 a.m. SHARP!

Announcements Monday January 12

Academic Bowl has begun! We practice every Wednesday in room 109b after school until 4. We have meets once a month at different schools around the Treasure Valley. If you've been playing Trivia Crack with your friends and love to play it, then Academic Bowl is just for you. Tell Mrs. Wheaton who won the pro football games this weekend! She will be impressed! Trust me!
Over 1,100 skiers and snowboarders were racing at Bogus Basin this weekend.  Thanks to Mrs. Ericson for taking us to the mountain to participate.  Our next race is this Saturday, January 17th!  It should be another great day of fun.
Our 2nd round of enrichment begins tomorrow. There are some great new classes and some fun returning classes. Please make sure to check the rosters TODAY to make sure your name appears on an Enrichment Roster. Make sure you know who the teacher is AND where to report.
Unfortunately, many students have a lot of missing work already.
This is kind of CRAZY, as there have not been very many assignments. If you are a student who is ALWAYS in intervention or study hall, this semester you can expect to also be enrolled in mandatory after school and saturday school time. We want to give you all the time you need to be up to date and caught up. There will also be LESS time this semester to turn in these assignments  and you can expect to have REDUCED grades for ANY late work. So, if you want to avoid spending additional time at school, PLEASE get your work in on time. If you ever have any questions as to where to report, please ask your 7th period teachers. Remember, attendance is taken and there are after school detentions when you are not in the correct location. Let's make some great changes
Tomorrow is our first boy’s basketball against Jefferson Middle School. 8th Grade will be here, and 7th grade will be away. Both games start at 4:00.  Be there to support our Vikes.
