These are your school announcements for March 30,2015.

Welcome back from Spring Break!  We are all hoping for sunshine and warm weather (cross your fingers)

Today is the last day to sign up for the MMS Talent Show.  Please sign up at the choir room.  

Students who are singing, please bring a karaoke version of your music to the try-out.  If you're having trouble finding one, please see Mr. Thompson.  Auditions are Tuesday, April 7th after school.  

We only have two more Academic Meets before the end of the year.   Our next meet will be on April 14th at Jefferson Middle School.

Tomorrow, our tennis team will be playing against East Valley!  Come and support MMS tennis.

Don’t forget our popcorn plaza is this Thursday.

Talent Show auditions are right after spring break - sign up at the choir room.

Don’t forget  to order your track or tennis shirts.  Be sure to go online with your parents and make the purchase for the new team shirts and any fun spirit gear that might suit you up for success!  Go Vikes! :)

6th and 7th graders - don't forget to log in to Skyward and make your elective choices for next year - remember you need 14 credits total.  Please see the counselors if you need help.  If you don't choose your electives, they will be chosen for you.

(8th graders too - sign up for high school classes and don't forget to select "Middleton High School" instead of MMS.)

All students need to sign up for your enrichment classes that start after spring break.  Please do this by Friday.   

Our popcorn plaza is tomorrow.  Bring your money and get a treat after lunch.   

Thursday night from 5:30 to 6:45 we will be having an open house for all incoming students who will be 6th graders next year.  If you have a brother or sister who is currently in 5th grade, let your parents now.  

Hey all you book lovers out there, don't forget that if you are wanting to order books through Scholastic, your orders need to be in by this Friday, the 20th. You can pick up a book catalog from any language arts teacher. Bring your orders to Ms. Wheaton room 109B. Readers Rock!

Have you checked the lost and found lately?  Go to the lost and found bins located in the main lunch room, front foyer of Annex A and in both gyms. Also, the office has a bunch of eyeglasses and other items waiting for you to pick them up.  

We won’t have the Vikes News this Friday, but we will see you again after spring break.

Do you have some hidden talent?

If so, come to the Choir room to sign-up to try out.  

Try-outs will be the week after Spring Break.  

Track and Tennis pictures will be taken tomorrow during practices.  Track pictures will begin at 3:30 near the long jump pit.  Tennis pictures will take place on the courts at 4:00.

Remember to wear a team shirt from last year or a grey or blue spirit shirt for spring sport pictures.

Speaking of shirts...if you are a member of the track team or tennis team, have you ordered yours?  Be sure to go online with your parents and make the purchase for the new team shirts and any fun spirit gear that might suit you up for success!  Go Vikes! :)

Congratulations to our Academic Bowl team.  They placed 2nd at the meet yesterday.  They have a meet in April, and the final championship will be in May.  A reminder to all participants:  There will be NO practice after school today.

March 10th is tomorrow, so if you want to be in leadership next year, you must turn in your application by tomorrow.  Stop by the counselor’s office.  

Tomorrow is also the next Academic Bowl meet.  Our Academic Vikes are headed to Vallivue Middle School.  Since we are attending the meet, we will NOT be having practice on Wednesday after school.

Have you noticed the sunflower seeds and shells in the hallways and classrooms?
Yes, and it is gross!

Sunflower seeds are NOT to be eaten at school.  Students are not showing Vikes Values when they dispose of the shells everywhere in the building.

Congratulations to our singing Vikes who performed last night!  They did a fantastic job under the direction of Mr. Thompson.  

March 6th finally here.  Do you know what you have to do by the end of the day?  

It is the last day to pay for your yearbook.  If you need to pay, please see Mrs. VanMaanen before you leave school.  
Everybody wants to be big track stars with 16 medals and run faster than cars.  Ok...maybe not faster than cars.  But come out and join the fun on the MMS Track team this year!  Whether you run, jump, throw with strength or fly over those hurdles, join us on Monday for the first day of MMS track practice.  Register online through the website!

Also get out your tennis rackets.  Tennis practice starts on Monday, March 9th.

Pick up your application forms to be in Leadership next year at the counselor’s office. The deadline to turn in your application is Tuesday, March 10th.

We will remind you about the MMS Spring Choir Concert tomorrow tonight at 7:00 at the high school.The 7th and 8th Grade Choirs will be performing,  Also, The Mixed Honor Choir and the Treble Choir will also be singing.      
Another important point: This Friday is quickly approaching, and it is the final, final, final deadline for paying for your yearbooks.  Head to the counselor’s office, check the list, and pay your $20 if necessary.

Get your running shoes on!!  It's time for track!  Join the MMS Track Team for some great runs, sun, and fun competition!  First practice- Monday, March 9th.  Make sure your parents register you online through the MMS website!  See you out at the track!
